This new prototypical elementary school serves up to 488 students in grades K–6. The kindergarten classrooms, large gymnasium, and multi-purpose room feature radiant floor heating. Fred and Sara Machetanz Elementary School is the first school in Alaska to achieve LEED Silver certification.
